Alcoholic Coca Cola

Coco-Cola is one of the most iconic brands in the world and is planning to is bring out its first ever alcoholic drink, based on a Japanese alcopop. Coke lovers worldwide might be waiting a while as it is unlikely the drink would be sold outside of Japan.

Coca-Cola is currently in the process of creating their own version of popular Japanese drink Chu-Hi, a fizzy drink with a small amount of shochu alcohol. Chu-Hi – an abbreviation for shochu highball – has been marketed as an alternative to beer, proving especially popular with female drinkers.

“This is a canned drink that includes alcohol; traditionally, it is made with a distilled beverage called shochu and sparkling water, plus some flavouring,” Coca-Cola’s Japanese president, Jorge Garduno said.

The product is typically between 3% and 8% alcohol by volume.
