If you’re a mad Star Wars fan and venturing to the US United Airlines has officially introduced a special Star Wars themed Boeing 737-800 aircraft into service featuring a Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker livery and board experience. A blanker of stars covers the entire aircraft, providing the backdrop for X-wing and TIE fighter spacecraft, which were redesigned for the film. Doug Chiang, Vice President and Executive Creative Director for LucasFilm, worked with his in-house designers to dream up the concept and was instrumental in the execution.
Passengers on the flight will be greeted with classic Star Wars-themed music during the boarding process and distribute commemorative pins throughout December in celebration of the movie’s premiere. The aircraft’s interior will feature a special plaque and include headrests affixed with the emblems of the film’s duelling factions, the Resistance and the First Order.
The Star Wars plane will fly on North America (US/CAN), Central America and Caribbean, with tail number N36272. Take home a piece of Star Wars. MileagePlus® members will be able to use miles to bid on several commenorative items and unique experiences.
