From late November, Melbourne will be transformed into a Christmas wonderland with FREE events, activities, decorations and more. At 7 – 9pm, Friday 29 November see Melbourne’s 16-metre high LED Christmas tree as it is officially lit up for the first time to spectacular effect at the Christmas Festival Launch Party. Listen for the sleigh bells heralding the arrival of Santa Claus and friends.
View the Christmas Projections featuring a very Melbourne Night Before Christmas. Start at State Library Victoria and onwards to the Melbourne Town Hall and Princes Bridge, 9 – 10:45pm nightly, Friday 29 November – Wednesday 25 December.
Saturday 30 November – Tuesday 24 December visit Santa’s House to take part in fun daily activities. Follow the heavenly scent to a delicious Christmas tradition in St’ Collins lane, Gingerbread Village by Epicure. Put on your virtual reality headset and navigate through the city’s biggest Christmas events and activations at Christmas Compass VR, Melbourne Visitor Hub, Melbourne Town Hall.
- Santa’s House: 10am – 12pm and 1 – 3pm daily plus 4 – 7pm on Thursdays and Fridays. Christmas Square, Fed Square, Swanston St & Flinders St, Melbourne.
Gingerbread Village by Epicure: 9am – 8:15pm daily, St. Collins Lane, Level 1, 260 Collins St Melbourne. Gold coin donation towards the Royal Children’s Hospital Foundation.
