Lunar New Year Celebration at Docklands

This weekend (Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th February) The District Docklands is hosting their free Lunar New Year celebration. This bright and vibrant celebration will be something you and the whole family won’t want to miss…and it’s free!! There will be interactive workshops running throughout the whole weekend that anyone can get involved in. You’ll have the opportunity to learn how to create a lantern, have a crack at some calligraphy writing, colour in hand fans and much more. During the weekend there will also be a number of performances including lion dancing, martial arts, traditional music and stilt walkers.

Make sure your around at 12pm to receive a free fortune cookie during the first lion dance. Each fortune cookie contains a special offer that can be redeemed in the precinct. So stick around and enjoy some of the fabulous food and dining venues that include a variety of Asian cuisine The District Docklands has on offer.

12pm to 1pm daily – Lion dance weaving around centre with fortune cooking giveaway
1pm to 2pm daily – Stilt walker
